48th ACI World Congress 2009
14 Mar 2009 - 48th ACI World Congress – Cape Town: ACI General Assembly and Congress Summary Some 450 financial markets participants from 44 countries attended the 48th ACI World Congress in Cape Town March 12th - 14th 2009. Even facing currently the biggest financial crisis for more than sixty years participants arrived from all over the world. 35 exhibitors from the industry took the chance talking to delegates presenting their latest developments. Remarkably is the presence of 15 different Central Banker's representatives underlying the importance of communication and networking in these difficult days. A workshop by ACI members on "Liquidity - How to re-install a well functionning Money Market" amplified the professional spirit of the community. The Annual General Assembly took place Saturday March 14th 2009 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, CTICC.

34th ICA Congress - Sharm el Sheikh, 2008
Under the patronage of ACI Egypt the Interarab Cambist Association (ICA) held its 34th ICA Congress November 13 - 16, 2008 at the Hotel Hyatt Regency, Sharm el Sheikh.
Some 400 delegates out of 27 countries worldwide met at this yearly convention representing more than 75 different financial institutions. The formal congress opening and welcome address were delivered by Mr. Amr El-Ganainy, ICA Chairman and Mr. Mahmoud Attalla, Honorary Chairman followed by the opening speech of Mr. Hisham Ramez, Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Egypt. Twenty one exhibitors invented for market updates, whilst the congress itself was focussing on the actual market crisis. The meeting was a further excellent networking event for members in these stormy days.
35th ICA Congress - Beruit, 2009
The 35th ICA Congress was held at the Hotel InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut from 22~25 October, 2009. This event brought together from around the globe 545 delegates and guests and 32 exhibitors. It was a perfect forum to ameliorate existing friendships and develop new ones in “A Place that Treasures Bonds”.
The kick-off of the business sessions came right after the official inauguration of the exhibition hosting 20 banks, financial institutions and service providers. As for the working panels, speakers shared their views and expertise with the audience through their presentations centered on ‘Global and Regional Economic Outlook’, ‘Currencies, Interest rates and Commodities strategies’ and ‘Surviving in an Uncertain Environment’. Attendees resumed networking during business lunches held on Friday (Oct 23) and Saturday (Oct 24).
Evening dinners were designed to entertain congress’ attendees in the Lebanese way. Saturday evening witnessed the hand-over of ICA flag from ACI Lebanon to Mr. Abdullah Al-Ahmadi, new ICA Chairman who will chair the Organizing Committee of the 36th ICA Congress – Istanbul 2010.
